    Three forward translators rather than two

    A third independent forward translation was added to cover regional vocabulary differences across Brazil. Discrepancies were reconciled by all three.

    Community sample drawn from university students

    The community pilot used an undergraduate sample, so it is younger and more educated than the target population. Literacy index administered as recommended.

    HiTOP‑SR — full version Nine-step adaptation

    All major scales and all 76 minor scales.

    Substance Use Module Translation only

    Forward and back translation, no psychometric testing. Available now.

    The module has not been through the nine-step process and is not endorsed on the same basis as the instrument above.

    Teams adapt either the full version or the Brief version, which carries the major scales without the minor scales. Both follow the same nine steps.
